Criteria for being
awarded the certificate

The Bai Euskarari Association has worked to align and adapt the criteria for obtaining the certificate with the Standard Reference Framework (EME).

From now on, the criteria for obtaining the Bai Euskarari certificate will be grouped into two main pillars: ‘Service in Basque’ (Zerbitzua euskaraz) and ‘Work in Basque’ (Lana euskaraz).

The intranet profile for entities holding the Bai Euskarari certificate has also been structured according to the levels defined by the EME. Consequently, all sections have been organized based on the EME, its pillars, and its levels.

**Building on the collaboration launched in 2023 between the Bai Euskarari Association and the Public Office for the Basque Language (Euskararen Erakunde Publikoa), we are currently piloting some adjustments to the criteria for obtaining the Bai Euskarari Certificate.

Taking the sociolinguistic context into account, we will adopt a more flexible approach to certain criteria on a trial basis, with the aim of reaching a growing number of entities and opening up new spaces for the Basque language.

These are the criteria for defining the ‘Service in Basque’ and ‘Service and Work in Basque’ levels in the Northern Basque Country. If an entity does not meet these requirements, it will be awarded the ‘On the Way’ (Bidean) level.
